PACIFIC

5W - WESTERN SAMOA Franz, OE2SNL, intends to become QRV from Apia on Upolu (OC-097) from Aug 18-27. He will operate in RTTY and little CW on 10/15/20m, 80/40m/WARC depending on the local conditions and also during the RTTY contest. QSL via OE2SNL, via CBA only.

FO - AUSTRALES ISLANDS KM9D/FO0MOT is on his way to Raivavae (OC-114) to hit the airwaves between end of Aug and early Sep. He hopes to have also good condx for 160m. QSL via OM2SA.

KH5 - PALMYRA Mike, KH6ND/KH5, shall leave Palmyra on Aug 17. While searching the fault on his 160m antenna he suffered a scorpion bite. QSL via K4TSJ

VK9 - COCOS KEELING ISLAND Bert, PA3GIO, starts his pacific roundtrip on OC-003 signing VK9CQ in SSB on 10-80m between Aug 16 and Sep 1. QSL via PA3GIO, if possible via buro! See his website http://www.qsl.net/pa3gio/VK9CQ/

YJ - VANUATU Masayoshi, JE1DXC, plans to be QRV in SSB/CW on 20/17/15/12m running 100 watts into dipoles on Shepherd Island (OC-111) from Aug 14-20. Last year his call was YJ0AXC. AFRICA

9G - GHANA Momentarily Sergei, UA3AP (K3AO), is active in CW/SSB from the club-station 9G5AP in Accra until Aug 23 with CW and SSB. The 3 ele beam is beaming north, for WARC he has a windom and dipoles for 40m and 80m are planned. QSL via UA3AP, via CBA or bureau.

E3 - ERITREA Tom, W7LN, hit the airwaves from Asmara first as E30LA then E30MA. QSL via W7LN. Both calls were issued to an Italian IOTA activity in 1999.

FH - MAYOTTE Christian, FH/TU5AX, was QRT and returns for a 6m only activity from Aug 16-28. During September he plans to participate in a Bhutan expedition and then expects to be moved to another African country by his business. QSL via F5OGL.

FR/T - TROMELIN FR/F6KDF/T experienced not only bad weather but also some technical difficulties: The generator power increased to 300 volts and killed two power supplies, one amplifier and the PK232. He made no RTTY since then and he wants to keep one station with 3 ele beam running until the mid of the week. QSL via F6KDF, CBA or bureau.

S9 - SAO TOME During his holiday Pete, SV8CRI, works in SSB/CW/RTTY with amp and beam signing S92SV between Aug 22 and Sep 5. QSL via bureau or CBA to SV8CRI.

AMERICA

HR - HONDURAS Joe, HR6/W8GEX, announced to be QRV in SSB on 40-6m (50,125 MHz) from Roatan Island (NA-057) from Aug 13-18. QSL via W8GEX.

PY0F - FERNANDO de NORONHA Rick, PY1VOY/PY0F, and Zeca, PY1LVF/PY0F, were active from Aug 8-15. QSLs via PY1LVF.

V2 - ANTIGUA, 8P - BARBADOS Ronald, PA3EWP, Peter, PA4EA, Rob, PA5ET, and Dennis, PA7FM, are on the air with two good signals signing V26WP, V26EA, V26ET and V26FM in CW/SSB/RTTY/PSK on 10-160m from Aug 12-23. For their Barbados activity from Aug 23 until Sep 4 they will receive their calls upon arrival. Emphasis is put on WARC/160m especially for Europe and Japan.
