PACIFIC

FK8 - FRENCH NEW CALEDONIA Last weekend Franck, FK8HC, made some 1500 QSOs running 100 watts into a R7 vertical on Freycinet Island (OC-032). QSL via VK4FW or direct to FK8HC, Franck, Box 7636, Ducos 98801, Noumea, French New Caledonia.

FO - MARQUESAS, FO - FRENCH POLYNESIA Alain, F2HE, is operating as FO0CLA from the Marquesas right now. He may go to the Tuamotu Islands (OC-066) around March 20. QSL via F6CLT.

H44 - SOLOMON ISLANDS Bernhard, DL2GAC, was QRV as H44MS from Florida Island (OC-158) running 100 watts from a solar powered battery into a windom ant. Via Port Moresby/Rabaul he will fly to Papua New Guinea on Mar 1/2 to activate some possible new IOTA islands until Mar 29. After that he will go to India where he is licensed as VU2BMS. QSLs via bureau to DL2GAC.

T32 - EASTERN KIRIBATI Walt, W0CP, and Jim, KK0T, are active as T32B in CW/SSB/RTTY/PSK31 on 6-160m between Feb 29 and Mar 6 (including the ARRL SSB Contest). QSL via KK0T.

YB - INDONESIA Bob, W7TSQ, may be on air as YB3ASQ/9 and later as YB3ASQ from Mar 2 until the end of the month. QSL via W7TSQ (with return postage).

AFRICA

9G - GHANA Starting on Mar 2 Bob, PA3DEW, and Vincent, PA3FQX, will operate as 9G1AA during their spare time. QSL via PA3ERA.

6W - SENEGAL Richard, 6W6/K3IPK, is QRV again until Mar 5. QSL via K3IPK.

S7 - SEYCHELLES During his holidays on Mahe Kurt, HB9MX, will sign S79MX mostly in CW on 6-160m (no 80m) from Mar 6 till Apr 1. QSL via buro to HB9MX.

VQ9 - CHAGOS ARCHIPELAGO Pres, N6SS, shall be QRV as VQ9SS especially on the lowbands/160m during these days. QSL via N6SS.

AMERICA

CE0 - EASTER ISLAND Dan, XQ3IDY, and Sergio, CE3WDH, will sign 3G0Y on 12/17/30-160m from Mar 4-13.

CE0 - JUAN FERNANDEZ ISLAND Pat, CE1VLY/CE0Z, is QRV on 10m SSB near 28470 kHz from SA-005 until Mar 2. QSL via CE1VLY.

HC8 - GALAPAGOS ISLANDS HC8N stays on air until the ARRL SSB Contest.

HR - HONDURAS After operating as V31HE (see DXNL 1186) Conny, DL1DA/HR2, will be QRV mostly in CW on 10-160m from San Pedro Sula from Mar 1-4. QSL via DL1DA.

J6 - ST. LUCIA Steve, K4WA, announced to work as J68WA or J6/K4WA mostly in CW especially on the WARC and lowbands from Mar 5-12.

J7 - DOMINICA Dave, J79WW (KK4WW), Gaynell, J79WWW (KK4WWW), Don, J79UGF (KE4UGF), Kay, J79EKH (KF4EKH), Peter, J79WD (R1WD), and Koh, J79AV (JA7KAC), will be on the air from two different locations from Mar 3-13.

KP2 - US VIRGIN ISLANDS Fred, K4FMD, and Wicky, W4WWT, are QRV as K4UP/KP2 on all bands from Feb 28 until Mar 5 (incl. ARRL SSB Contest). QSL via K4UP.

FO0 - CLIPPERTON ISLAND The major DXpedition is already on air in SSB/CW signing N9NS/mm with a strong signal. The pilot station for Europe is Alex, PA1AW (pa1aw@qsl.net), and Jay, W2IJ (pcb4u@earthlink.net) for the rest of the world. Announced frequencies in SSB are 50115, 28475, 24945, 21295, 18145, 14195, 7065, 3799 kHz; in CW: 50115, 28025, 24895, 21025, 18075, 14025, 10106, 7005, 3505, 1828.5 kHz and in RTTY: 28080, 21080, 14080 kHz. Internet logs will be accessible after the DXpedition.

PJ7 - ST. MAARTEN, FS - ST. MARTIN PJ9/W1HL, PJ9/W1USN and PJ9/AA1M are QRV from Dutch St. Maarten from Feb 28 till Mar 6. They will try to activate also the French part St. Martin. QSL for W1USN via his CBA, for W1HL and AA1M via the CBA of AA1M.

XF4 - REVILLA GIGEDO Jose, XE1ZJV, Luis, XEYJL, and Enrique, XE1LWY, will sign XF4LWY in CW/SSB on all bands from Socorro Island (NA-030) from Mar 3-8. QSL via XE1LWY.

ASIA

8Q7 - MALDIVES Luciano, IK5FCK, will be QRV in SSB only signing 8Q7FC on 80-10m from Ganghei Island (AS-013) from Mar 6-12. QSL via IK5FCK.

XW - LAOS Surprisingly Andy, G4ZVJ, hit the airwaves from XW2A, the station of Hiroo, JA2EZD. QSLs for Andy's QSOs between Feb 23-28 should be sent to G4ZVJ.

EUROPE

C3 - ANDORRA To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Radio Union of Andorra the special prefixes C34, C35, C36 and the special club calls C37URA and C37RC will be activated in March.

SY2A is used by Monk Apollo, SV2ASP/A, between Oct 1 and the end of the year. This call celebrates his 10th anniversary "on air" and counts as Mount Athos. Apollo writes that there are some problems with his outgoing mails since he received several duplicate requests for already mailed QSLs. He confirms ALL direct QSL requests but this can take a few weeks.
ZX0F The QSL mailing will start in mid March since they had some problems with the printer.

The problems with the processing of the DXCC applications shall be managed with additional personnel. An application mailed in May 1999 lead to an award dated Jun 28 with the QSLs returned in August. The award and "bill" were received now. This applies also to the E4 endorsements from October.

The number of German 6m licenses increased from 1000 to 3000. Since these licenses were issued with a lottery some 1000 applications were unsuccessful
