Sunspot numbers were down slightly this week, but solar flux was up. The geomagnetic field was fairly quiet. The average solar flux for the previous 90 days rose from 128 to 131, and the solar flux rose above this range for the past few days of the reporting week. The trend is up, as shown by the rather dramatic jump in solar flux from 129.9 to 140.2 and 149.5, then to 156.4 on Thursday.
For Friday through Sunday, conditions look good for the CQ Worldwide DX CW Contest, with a predicted flux of 160, 165 and 165, and planetary A index of 15, 9 and 9.
Following the contest, flux values are expected to stay around 145 to 155 from December 2 through 7, then stay in the low 130 range from December 10 through 18 and rise above 140 again around December 22.
Sunspot Numbers for November 19 through 25 were 57, 58, 55, 56, 56, 74 and 102 with a mean of 65.4. 10.7 cm flux was 117.9, 121.5, 121.2, 126.1, 129.9, 140.2 and 149.5, with a mean of 129.5, and estimated planetary A indices were 7, 12, 7, 7, 10, 12 and 9, with a mean of 9.1.
